I Ching and the courts
Glossary
Crowley assigned an I Ching hexagram to each court card by building it from two trigrams: the suit as the lower trigram (Wands Thunder, Cups Lake, Swords Wind, Disks Mountain) and the rank as the upper (Knight Thunder, Queen Lake, Prince Wind, Princess Mountain). Jung wrote the foreword to the Wilhelm translation of the I Ching in 1949 and made it his central example of synchronicity.
