Elemental dignities

The Golden Dawn method of reading cards by the friendship of their elements rather than by reversal: Fire and Air are friends, Water and Earth are friends, Fire and Water are enemies, Air and Earth are enemies. A card between two friendly cards is strengthened, between two enemies weakened, and a card of the same element is strongly strengthened. Crowley's own deck is not designed to be read reversed.
