The first decan of Aquarius runs from 0°–10° of the sign, about Jan 20–29. Its ruler in the Chaldean order is Venus, and its card is the Five of Swords, which Crowley calls Defeat and the Golden Dawn the Lord of Defeat. The decan lies within the arc of the Prince of Swords (21° Capricorn to 20° Aquarius). Its two angels of the Shem ha-Mephorash are Umabel and Iah-hel.
